The poet, critic, and journalist Hussein Bin Hamza was born in 1963 in Al-Hasaka, Syria. In 1995 he moved to Beirut and worked as an editor and critic for various newspapers. He headed the publishing house of the Institute for Iraqi Studies, where he was in charge of the publication of about fifty books on politics and sociology, and founded the weekly literary supplement »Kalimat« in 2014, where he was editor-in-chief until 2016.

Khalid Kaki is an Iraqi painter, sculptor, poet, narrator and musician, born in Kirkuk, Iraq, in 1971. He left Iraq in 1994 after completing his university studies at the Faculty of Languages at Baghdad University. He lived in Madrid between 1996 and 2014. Since the beginning of 2014, he has moved to Namur in Belgium.
He produced 15 solo exhibitions of painting and calligraphy in Madrid and other Spanish cities, as well as an exhibition in the Netherlands. He also participates in more than a dozen group exhibitions with other artists in Spain and abroad.

Marokkaanse gnawa muziek komt oorspronkelijk uit West-Afrika. Slaven die naar Marokko werden gehaald, hebben deze muziek meegenomen. Gnawa muziek is een mix van Afrikaanse ritmes en religieuze Arabische liederen. Op gnawa muziek wordt vaak heel uitbundig gedanst.
Mensen geloven dat ze zo in contact kunnen komen met geesten. Ze vragen dan hulp bij ziekte of problemen.
